Family Support

Our family support project runs a community support hub for asylum seeking children and families living in hotel accomodation in Birmingham. We also offer school holiday wellbeing activities.

Our community support hub offers support to families and single women sanctaury seekers who are newly arrived in Birmingham. The hubs aim to offer welcome, a safe space for sanctuary seekers to discuss their needs, practical support and signposting, homework support and fun and games for children.

The sanctaury seekers we support through our hub all live in a city centre hotel. The length of stay in the hotel can often be for many months so our regular term time hub offers some respite to families who are all room sharing with limited access to outside space.
We offer a holistic advocacy support programe to the families, help them with their immediate needs and help to find school places for the children. We also offer homework support, English language support as well as providing art activities and games. We also help the families to orientate themselves in their local area. We offer holiday wellbeing activites and day trips to local museums and community spaces.
